Job Description
Key Role:
Apply engineering physics, engineering mathematics, and materials science principles to support the design, analysis, manufacturing, or maintenance of mechanical systems. Apply specific functional knowledge and working or general industry knowledge. Develop or contribute to solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity. Work independently with some guidance and review or guide activities of more junior employees.
Basic Qualifications:
Experience conducting analyses and providing subject matter expertise to support engineering decisions
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics
Ability to use engineering best practices, review vendor provided technical documentation, ensure that mechanical and physical engineering risks are identified, and assist in mitigation measures
Ability to assist CAD designers in developing the mechanical design of products, using computer-assisted design and drafting software, and evaluating designs for sufficiency
Secret clearance
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Science, or Technology
Additional Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in the design, development, or production of military equipment
Experience with the development and review of Army technical data packages
Knowledge of risk reduction identification and mitigation activities for safety and performance issues
Ability to perform in all phases of hardware design, development, and documentation
Ability to review vendor designs for feasibility
Ability to interface with other governmental integration to provide support for engineering activities
FE Certification or Professional Engineering License Certification
Clearance:

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $60,400.00 to $137,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
