Key Role:
Monitor network administration and maintenance operations. Manage the design evolution of existing operational networks. Resolve network incidents to ensure the smooth running of the network operation. Apply advanced consulting skills, extensive technical expertise, and full industry knowledge. Develop innovative solutions to complex problems. Work without considerable direction. Mentor and supervise team members.
Basic Qualifications:
6+ years of experience with SATCOM engineering
Experience supporting the planning, engineering, and implementation of satellite-based communications systems
Experience managing and documenting systems configurations, trouble incidents, test procedures, and test execution or results
Experience supporting SATCOM network planning, set up, configuration, troubleshooting, testing, and teardown
Experience coordinating with key stakeholders to assist in the certification and satellite request process
Experience assisting in correcting problems with interference impacting operational missions in the development of plans to optimize transponder utilization and in the SAR and GAR processes
Experience developing and presenting briefings regarding status of SATCOM planning, or test efforts as required
Ability to exercise technical leadership to obtain agreement on required actions, schedules, and the resolution of conflicting points of view concerning support operations and Tactical Network systems
Secret clearance
HS diploma or GED
Additional Qualifications:
Experience in acquisition, including Systems Planning, Research, Development, and Engineering
Experience performing work as an engineer in the industry, or as an officer or soldier
Knowledge of tactical SATCOM systems, and SATCOM engineering, processes, and methodologies
Ability to configure SATCOM devices, including NCW, FDMA, and TDMA modems, and understand SATCOM network monitoring and troubleshooting procedures
Ability to perform link budget analysis over commercial and military satellites for X, C, Ka, and Ku-Band frequencies
Ability to coordinate and communicate with Teleport and Regional Hub Node strategic nodes
Ability to plan and coordinate military networks to meet operational mission objectives
Ability to coordinate activities across the support team to obtain concurrence, implement plans of action to accomplish PM objectives, coordinate system development tasks with other system engineering program leads based on integration challenges or new requirements, and ensure satellite operational requirements, system control requirements, and user requirements are satisfied
Bachelor's degree

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $75,600.00 to $172,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
