We’re looking for a software engineer like you to develop efficient and effective software, from vision to production-ready system, in an exciting, agile environment. 

As a Systems Engineer at Booz Allen, you’ll use the latest architectural approaches and open-source frameworks and tools to deliver complete end-to-end solutions to your clients. Using your software engineering expertise, you’ll analyze the environment to ensure that your team’s solutions consider the architecture and operating environment, as well as future functionality and enhancements. You’ll sharpen your skills as you master new tools and techniques while helping to identify and implement system improvements.

You Have:   

  • Experience in system integration consisting of upgrades, testing, and configuration of network components on the Emulation Test Bed such as traffic stimulation and TGEN
  • Experience supporting system testing by performing various tasks doing test-scenario development, network traffic stimulation such as TGEN, system configurations, test-run execution and monitoring, network-data capture, data storage, and post-test database generation
  • Experience performing data analysis entails analyzing the network data collected from the test runs and producing data products for management review, and in developing performance metrics such as throughput, latency, and packet completion rate, producing network topology graphs and correlating its impact on network connectivity during the test run, and identifying anomalous network behavior and providing explanations or directions on how to resolve the issue
  • Experience designing and developing new GUI screens to display network performance statistics
  • Experience updating the TRANCE backend PCAP parser to recognize packets from various VLAN locations
  • Experience developing an automated and customized set of SQL queries to analyze network statistics
  • Experience troubleshooting external network issues
  • Ability to develop and implement a test plan to validate major rewrite of a backend processor in C++
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in CS, IT, or Systems Engineering, or 10+ years of experience in software engineering, networking engineering, and systems engineering in lieu of a degree

Nice If You Have:   

  • Experience with Java, Python, C#, C/C++, .NET, and JavaScript
  • Experience with networking, including CCNA
  • Experience with VmWare

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $84,600.00 to $193,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
