Electronics Hardware Engineer

Key Role:

Apply leading-edge principles, theories, and concepts as you work on unusually complex problems and provide highly innovative solutions. Apply engineering, physics, mathematics, and materials science principles to support the design, analysis, and rapid prototyping of mechanical systems for DoD clients. Apply advanced consulting and extensive technical expertise. Develop innovative solutions to complex problems. Ensure that problems have been properly identified and solutions will satisfy the users requirements and prepare reports and recommendations concerning existing and emerging hardware technologies. Provide specific input to the hardware components of system design, including end-user devices, servers, networking devices, data storage devices, and specialized processors.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience with electrical or mechanical engineering

  • Experience designing or maturing custom electronics, firmware, or mechanics for rapid development of prototypes or models

  • Ability to perform software or hardware testing to ensure achievement of system requirements

  • Ability to inspect, diagnose, or repair electronics through use of microscopes, soldering, digital multimeters, power supplies, oscilloscopes, signal generators, or spectrum analyzers

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, changing, and challenging environment

  • Ability to translate stakeholder needs into system level requirements and design and develop viable system solutions to address those needs

  • Ability to analyze and prepare functional requirements and specifications for hardware acquisitions

  • Ability to obtain a security clearance

  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering, CS, or Mathematics

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with Agile and Scrum project management

  • Experience with programming and scripting languages on Linux platforms

  • Experience integrating hardware and software systems

  • Secret clearance

  • Master's degree in Engineering, CS, or Mathematics

  • Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) or CISSP Certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $58,400.00 to $133,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
