Key Role:

Work with senior DoD officials to analyze and coordinate policy, guidance, and standards to improve engineering practices, including systems engineering, mission engineering, digital engineering, and other engineering specialties, across the Department. Apply engineering experience as well as understanding of the principles that form the foundation of DoD system development to inform strategic decision making. Work across organizational boundaries to identify and resolve issues through policy, guidance, and standard maturation. Work to improve implementation of engineering practices throughout the DoD through workforce development efforts.

Basic Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience in engineering or technology
• Experience with supporting engineering or acquisition efforts on DoD systems
• Knowledge of DoD engineering policies and practices, including DoDI 5000.88
• Secret Clearance
• BS degree in engineering, science, mathematics, or analytics

Additional Qualifications:

• Experience with building strong working relationships across multiple stakeholder
• Experience with developing and coordinating DoD or Service-level policy or guidance, drafting Congressional reports, /or drafting talking points for senior leader discussions
• organizations
• Knowledge of implementation of engineering principles across a variety of program types
• Ability to apply understanding of engineering principles to the formulation of strategic-level recommendations
• Active TS/SCI clearance preferred
