Hardware and Software Engineer, Senior

Key Role:

Apply leading-edge principles, theories, and concepts as you work on unusually complex problems and provide highly innovative solutions. Operate with substantial latitude for unreviewed actions or decisions while working closely with experts in mathematics and electrical engineering to produce the necessary results. Mentor or supervise employees in both firm and technical competencies. Use advanced embedded software expertise while gaining experience in sensors, power harvesting, and edge-processed algorithms. Identify new opportunities to develop solutions to help our customers meet their toughest needs.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience with engineering requirements gathering, and design, development, debugging, or deployment of integrated or embedded devices
  • Experience with printed circuit board (PCB) design, including PCB testing, integration, or troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of rapid prototyping
  • Knowledge of software configuration control tools
  • Ability to lead teams of hardware and software engineers
  • Ability to communicate complex problems and innovative solutions to non-technical clients and audiences
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, CS, or Mathematics and 8+ years of experience in Engineering, or Master’s degree in an Engineering, CS, or Mathematics field and 5+ years of experience in Engineering

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with programming in C or C++
  • Experience working with Git
  • Experience with Agile and Scrum project management
  • Experience with programming and scripting languages on Linux platforms
  • Experience with FPGA software and firmware development
  • Knowledge of bare-metal or RTOS-level development
  • Knowledge of applied RF communications theory
  • Ability to manage and mentor employees in both firm and technical competencies
  • Master's degree in EE or Computer Engineering

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $81,800.00 to $186,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
