Job Description
Key Role:
Perform as a senior member in our elite Digital Battlespace Platform (DBP) team to build next generation technologies for our defense clients leading our materials and science engineering efforts. Help lead a dynamic team responsible for developing, integrating, and testing of solutions to create emerging technologies and products for the next generation Warfighter. Develop, characterize, and support the scale-up of advanced materials, with emphasis on coatings, electromagnetic, nanomaterials, materials chemistry, or another related technical area. Display knowledge in areas of interest, including technologies within footwear, signature management, corrosion, personal protection equipment, clothing and uniforms, ground vehicles, or aerospace systems. Interact frequently with internal and external management and senior-level customer representatives concerning Booz Allen customer projects, operational decisions, scheduling requirements, and contractual clarifications. Advise organizational and government leadership on how to implement emerging technologies and work alongside leadership to ensure Soldier solutions are fully integrated on a continuous basis to increase mission capability and value. Actively support the management and execution of the team with the materials science team.
Basic Qualifications:
6+ years of experience in materials science, testing and evaluation, or systems engineering, or within the technical industry
3+ years of experience supporting the DoD technical requirements in testing and evaluation, market research, technology scouting, material integration, procurement of development items, financial tracking, or schedule development
2+ years of experience in managing a team
Knowledge of technology and manufacturing readiness levels
Ability to manage multiple projects composed of multidisciplinary team of scientist, engineers, and business professionals
Secret clearance
Bachelor’s degree in a Material Science, Chemistry, Physics, or Engineering field
Additional Qualifications:
10+ years of experience with the application of Materials Science tetrahedron of properties, processing, performance, structure, and characterization of materials
Experience with identifying, selecting, and recommending materials for various defense systems, including soldier worn, ground vehicles, or aerospace platforms
Top Secret clearance
Master’s degree in Materials Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, or related field preferred; Doctorate degree in Materials Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, or related field a plus
Clearance:
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $110,100.00 to $250,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
