Database Vulnerability Analyst

Key Role:
Work independently to support the validation, assessment, and accreditation processes necessary to ensure IT systems meet the organization’s information assurance (IA) and security requirements. Assist with defining organizations’ desired state and risk thresholds and analyze actual state information to assess compliance. Present results and recommendations to clients, including senior leaders. Serve as a database technical specialist for assets to support Cybersecurity and IT services. Review, identify, and report problems with the installation and operations of databases, including system options, software used and not used, default security controls that are enabled, disabled, or bypassed, and system-wide options or parameters that may create security vulnerabilities. Determine the impact and risk of submitted change requests prior to implementation providing Cyber oversight for database changes that affect the level of risk.

Basic Qualifications:

-5+ years of experience with Oracle, SQL, MySQL, or DB2 and Cybersecurity

-3+ years of experience with Microsoft Office products

-Experience with identifying, monitoring, analyzing, and reporting Windows vulnerabilities and recommending security countermeasures to mitigate identified database risks

-Secret clearance

-BA or BS degree or 4 years of experience with database work

-DoD 8570 IAM I Certification, including CAP, GSLC, or Security+CE

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with DoD, Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), the Risk Management Framework (RMF), and the DoD Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process (DIACAP)

-Ability to analyze results and present complex technical concepts to senior clients

-Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
