5G Linux Systems Administrator, Senior

Key Role

Apply knowledge of virtualization and networking to support focused research efforts and client-funded projects in the 5G lab. Collaborate with internal and external teams. Help bring creative solutions to challenging problems that users of the 5G lab encounter.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience with enterprise Linux, including Red Hat, CentOS, SUSE, Solaris, or Ubuntu

  • Experience with scripting languages, such as Python, Perl, Bash, or Ruby

  • Experience in developing, planning, and administering VMware ESXI and vCenter deployments

  • Experience with VMware products and platforms, including vSphere and vSAN

  • Knowledge of software defined networking (SDN) and concepts

  • Ability to perform Linux and Unix system management and administration, including troubleshooting, fault isolation, system tuning, software installation, and maintenance

  • Ability to obtain a security clearance

  • HS diploma and 10+ years of experience in system administration or Bachelor’s degree in an Information Technology field and 5+ years of experience in system administration

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with OpenStack, KVM, Vert-Manager, Docker containers, or Kubernetes

  • Experience with various networking fields and their implementation, including TCP/IP, switching and routing, ports and protocols, firewall concepts, and load-balancing

  • Experience with SDN and SDWAN

  • Experience with data analytics tools, including Logstash, ELK, and Splunk

  • Experience with Active Directory

  • Experience deploying Iaas, Paas, or SaaS

  • Experience with telecommunications networks and components 3G, 4G, and 5G

  • Experience with configuration management tools, including Ansible

  • Knowledge of 3GPP standards, network protocols, procedures, implementation, and call flows

  • Ability to build complex cloud-based solutions

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $73,100.00 to $166,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
