Cyber AI Engineer and Researcher

The Opportunity:

As a cyber analytics professional, you’re excited at the prospect of designing, developing, and deploying machine learning (ML) tools to assist cyber operators and solutions to bolster cyber defenses. Your deep technical acumen, domain understanding, and consulting expertise will help guide clients as they prioritize threats, develop capabilities, train their workforce, and operationalize security controls.

In this role, you will interface with clients, understand mission objectives, develop use cases, and lead development of a range of cyber-related analytic solutions. You’ll architect, implement, apply, and operationalize automated and ML-based solutions for complex tasks, including extracting insight from multiple disparate data sources and types. You'll perform research in machine learning, including adversarial machine learning and model interpretability. You'll produce whitepapers and briefings for both technical and non-technical audiences. You’ll serve as the client interface and maintain technical responsibility across the entire life cycle, including requirements gathering and analysis, process and systems definition, data analysis, presentation of analysis to clients in a format they can digest, and development of algorithm-driven products and solutions.

You Have:

  • 8+ years of experience in a professional work environment
  • 5+ years of experience with cybersecurity
  • 3+ years of experience with applying machine learning professionally
  • Experience with applying traditional ML approaches, including clustering, classification, or regression to cybersecurity challenges
  • Experience with applying deep learning to cybersecurity challenges
  • Experience with programming in Python
  • Experience with COTS software evaluation
  • Bachelor's degree

Nice If You Have:  

  • Knowledge of ML concepts and trends, including LLM
  • Knowledge of vulnerability analysis
  • Knowledge of mathematics and statistics, including the theory of probability, statistical inference, algorithms, linear algebra, and calculus

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $106,200.00 to $242,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
