Information System Security Officer

Key Role:

Provides support for a program, organization, system, or enclave’s information assurance program. Provides support for proposing, coordinating, implementing, and enforcing information systems security policies, standards, and methodologies. Maintains operational security posture for an information system or program to ensure information systems security policies, standards, and procedures are established and followed. Assists with the management of security aspects of the information system and performs day-to-day security operations of the system. Evaluate security solutions to ensure they meet security requirements for processing classified information. Performs vulnerability and assessment analysis to support certification and accreditation. Provides configuration management (CM) for information security software, hardware, and firmware. Manages changes to the system and assesses the security impact of those changes. Prepares and reviews documentation to include System Security Plans (SSPs), Risk Assessment Reports, Certification & Accreditation (C&A) packages, and System Requirements Traceability Matrices (SRTMs). Supports security authorization activities in compliance with Information System Certification and Accreditation Process and DoD Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process (DIACAP).

Basic Qualifications:  

  • Experience with security tools, hardware or software security implementation, communication protocols, and Encryption techniques or tools

  • TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph

  • Bachelor’s degree and 12+ years of experience as an ISSO, or 16+ years of experience as an ISSO in lieu of a degree

  • DoD 8570 compliance: Information Assurance Management (IAM) Level I certification

Additional Qualifications:   

  • Experience in Nessus Scanning

  • Experience in NMAP

  • Experience in Splunk, including Security Essentials

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $73,100.00 to $166,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
