The Opportunity:

Are you looking to put your problem-solving prowess to the test in a rapidly evolving security research and development environment? You know that reverse engineers, and vulnerability analysts all play key roles in the capability development life cycle. As a Computer Network Operations (CNO) Capability Development Specialist, you’ll have the opportunity to use skills in reverse engineering of C/C++ and JavaScript, reverse engineering tools, scripting languages, debugging, computer architectures, and networking protocols to support our government intelligence clients. We’re looking for someone like you to have a direct impact on the nation’s security.

On our team, you’ll be involved in the full life cycle of reverse engineering projects involving browser vulnerabilities. Working on an Agile team of experts, you’ll perform reverse engineering and vulnerability analysis, informing operational parameters for complex systems, as well as leveraging various types of reverse engineering tools to assist in the delivery of your work. You’ll determine what the art of the possible is, what can be done, and then you’ll bring it to life for your clients.

You Have: 

  • 1+ years of experience with Chromium, Safari, Edge, or Firefox vulnerability research
  • Experience with software reverse engineering tools, including IdaPro, Hopper, Binary Ninja, or Ghidra
  • Experience with secure programming and source code auditing of C and C++
  • Experience with debuggers, compilers, assemblers, linkers, source code extractors, and disassemblers for Windows, Linux, Android, Apple OS X, or IOS platforms
  • Experience with emulation, including QEMU or intermediate code representation
  • Knowledge of Fuzzing Frameworks and Mutators, including Radamsa, Libfuzzer, AFL, Defensics, Hongfuzz, Frida, Dharma, or OSS-fuzz
  • Knowledge of assembly languages, including x86/x86-64 and ARM/AARCH64
  • TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph
  • HS diploma or GED

Nice If You Have: 

  • Experience with Computer Network Operations
  • Experience with low level network socket operations and network communications
  • Experience with auditing large C++ code bases and reviewing code revisions and security patches
  • Experience working with Chromium internals, including V8, Mojo, or Blink
  • Experience working with Safari internals, including WebKit, JavaScriptCore, or Core Animation
  • Experience working with Edge internals, including Chakra, Trident, Progressive Web Apps, Microsoft Graph, or Universal Windows Platform
  • Experience working with Firefox internals, including Gecko, SpiderMonkey, Stylo, Electrolysis, or Quantum Renderer
  • Bachelor's degree ​in Computer Science

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $58,300.00 to $133,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
