Telecommunication Technician

Key Role:

Analyze complex local and wide area network systems, including planning, designing, evaluating, and configuring operating systems and protocol suites for virtualized and containerized systems. Resolve difficult interoperability problems to obtain operation across host, hypervisor, and guest nodes. Load and configure cloud servers and vendors, including Cisco, Juniper, or white box routers and switches. Support the acquisition of hardware and software and subcontractor services. Act as a technical project leader or provide work leadership to junior employees, as needed.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience providing technical support for the engineering
  • 4+ years of experience with testing complex software and hardware systems in the communication field
  • Experience with network planning for telecommunications switches
  • Experience with conducting integration and system-level testing of telecommunications systems or platforms
  • Experience with Kubernetes
  • Experience with Cisco, Juniper, or networking equipment
  • Experience with VMWare, QEMU, KVM, or Docker
  • Experience with Linux or OpenStack
  • TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph
  • HS diploma or GED

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with Cisco CCNA
  • Knowledge of RHCSA
  • Knowledge of telephony and telecommunication
  • Knowledge of networking services
  • Knowledge of software-defined networking

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $58,300.00 to $133,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
