The Opportunity:

That is why we need you, an experienced Action Officer who can analyze every aspect of your customer's operations and provide high-quality mission support.

As part of our team, you'll serve as a strategic Action Officer to the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), helping oversee the creation and execution of advanced government-funded research and development programs.

As an Action Officer, you will be responsible for managing incoming requirements, ensuring that the task guidance is clear, communicating to the team responsible for completing the task, and drafting responses or documents in support of technical taskers. You will also be readily available to shift your focus to fulfill emerging client requests. Your attention to detail, flexibility, communication skills, understanding of the client mission, and problem solving will enable the mission's success.

As an Action Officer, you will work closely with a high-performing, fast-paced team to support senior government executives and Program Manager clients. You will lead tasks in a variety of areas, including tracking important milestones or actions, including technical details of programs. You’ll prioritize work by considering its risk, importance, urgency, and potential business, organizational, and client implications. You’ll interact with clients, government officials, and other executives in various sectors. You’ll draft, write, and edit reports, briefs, correspondence and other documents. You’ll laisse and coordinate meetings with key internal and external stakeholders

You Have:

  • Experience in interacting and communicating with senior level executives, including SES or GS-15
  • Experience working with technical staff or engineers
  • Experience with using MS Office, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities
  • Ability to manage a team and delegate tasks appropriately
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple short- and long-term projects
  • Ability to identify and manage client expectations, develop clear objectives and deadlines, and communicate taskers on behalf of agency leadership
  • Ability to pay strict attention to detail and display diligent adherence to deadlines and deliverables
  • Secret clearance
  • HS Diploma or GED

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience working in the front office in a government R&D environment
  • Experience with the military or DoD
  • Experience in supporting a DoD front office
  • Experience in event planning and coordination
  • Possession of exceptional project management and organizational skills
  • Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills, including spelling and grammar skills
  • TS/SCI clearance

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $54,000.00 to $123,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
