Defense Microelectronics Hardware Architect

Key Role:
Provide technical leadership and subject matter expertise to defense microelectronics clients in the areas of defense weapons system and major program microelectronics hardware requirements and architecture. Translate microelectronics chip-level performance information into achievable system-level performance improvements. Generate a set of actionable technology roadmaps and reports that establish the future of DoD system requirements and what the associated subsystem and microelectronics-level requirements will be necessary in order to achieve those missions. Understand the process by which major defense systems engineers go about selecting particular hardware components to meet overall system requirements.


Basic Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of experience with Defense Systems Engineering or microelectronics hardware architecture, including developing detailed system-level requirements

  • 10+ years of experience with analysis of mission requirements and translating those requirements down to a subsystem and microelectronics component level

  • Experience with a range of microelectronics technologies and how they fit within an overall system architecture

  • Experience with microelectronics chip-level decision making, including advanced packaging technologies

  • Knowledge of a broad range of DoD system needs and how those systems are architected

  • Knowledge of the types of microelectronics used today and the gaps in today’s technologies and approaches

  • Ability to understand defense needs related to advanced microelectronics, evaluate the performance of various technologies and vendors, and define a technology and business roadmap that defines the path forward to senior stakeholders

  • Secret clearance

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $81,800.00 to $186,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
