Defense Mission and Data Strategist

The Opportunity:

As a strategy consultant, you’re passionate about helping organizations understand and reach their goals. You find fulfillment in that “ah-ha!” moment when your client realizes you just showed them how to transform their organization. We’re looking for someone like you—an experienced strategy consultant who can identify an organization’s long-term goals and explain how to achieve them.

This is an opportunity to have an impact on the reform of the DoD. As a strategy analyst on our team, you’ll engage with senior clients to help them understand their enterprise and crystalize their goals. You’ll ask the right questions to draw out objectives and vision. Your client will look to you to show them their organization from the outside. From unrealized potential to systemic challenges, you’ll provide your client with actionable objectives and a plan to identify, acquire, and use data to meet their mission. As a strategy leader, you’ll identify and anticipate your client’s needs as you create their way forward. You will work with us and lead change for the better in the Defense sector.

You Have:

  • 7+ years of experience in a professional work environment

  • 2+ years of experience with developing a data strategy or identifying data analytics initiatives and objectives

  • 2+ years of experience with developing or implementing data standards, practices, and processes to improve data availability

  • Experience with common data analytics and business intelligence tools, including Microsoft Excel, Tableau, or Qlik

  • Experience with advanced data capabilities, including analytical model development, data engineering, and strategic data planning

  • Ability to comprehend the client’s business issues and data challenges quickly

  • TS/SCI clearance

  • Bachelor’s degree

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience with data exploration, data cleaning, data analysis, data visualization, and data mining

  • Experience with statistical and general-purpose programming languages for data analysis

  • Experience with an application-specific scripting language

  • Experience with analyzing unstructured data sources

  • Experience with developing predictive data models, quantitative analyses, and visualization of targeted data sources

  • Knowledge of Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, or Natural Language Processing techniques

  • Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills, including communicating complex technical and business concepts to leaders, key stakeholders, and team members in technical and non-technical roles

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $81,800.00 to $186,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
