E3 System Safety Engineer, Senior

The Challenge:

Are you looking for an opportunity to combine your technical skills with big picture thinking to make an impact in Electromagnetic Environmental Effects (E3)? Our team supports senior-level DoD and Service personnel with E3 implementation and oversight for DoD ordnance programs. Leverage your specialized knowledge and expertise in E3, including applying Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) principles, reviewing E3 issues during inspections/tests, and conduct analyses to assess the impact of design changes to ordnance systems to reduce warfighter risk.

As a E3 systems engineer on our team, you'll enjoy a dynamic team environment of client and contractor staff while executing comprehensive E3 and system safety programs or individual tasks on a variety of ordnance, and Navy weapon/electronic systems.  Typical work products include performing E3/electrical/Lightning Protection System (LPS) inspections, reviewing ESD certifications, addressing ESD, LPS, and E3 policy and providing recommended changes, performing Radiation Hazard (RADHAZ) surveys/analyses, developing software applications/engineering tools/databases for related E3 information, and conducting engineering and analytical analyses to assess the impact of design changes to ordnance and electronic systems. You'll analyze data, develop written deliverables, assist with the presentation of results, and assist with the review of client E3 artifacts to verify compliance with requirements, policy, and guidance documents. You'll conduct these tasks in accordance with established plans and quality standards but will have the freedom to improve processes and advance the discipline of E3. On larger programs, you may lead a team of E3 practitioners with various experience levels and will mentor staff to build proficiency.
