Energy Systems Electrical Engineer

The Challenge:

What if you could use your engineering skills to help build the roadmap to higher energy resilience for the Department of Defense? As an electrical engineer focusing in electrical distribution system analysis, you understand the importance of minimizing interruption to service and danger to lives and equipment. That knowledge is key when it comes to understanding the weak points of a distribution system that serves critical missions, and proposing projects that achieve a higher level of resilience while supporting the transition off of fossil fuels.  We’re looking for an electrical engineer who has experience performing quality assurance deign reviews for protection and control documents, and knows relaying schemes relating to bus and transformer protection and bus configuration.  Part of this job will require travel to military installations, so strong communication skills to clearly and succinctly provide project updates for briefs are desired.

Our team supports the Department of Defense in its efforts to provide mission readiness through energy resilience.  The team focuses on identifying energy resilience gaps, then proposing and developing energy projects that meet mission requirements and fill those gaps. That’s why we need you, an electrical engineer with a strong background in overload, no load, black start and short circuit testing to help us provide recommendations on how to make electrical systems more resilient, and eventually change the way the Department of Defense makes energy decisions.  The candidate will be working with military installations to propose projects relating to all aspects of energy systems - electrical, mechanical, fuel and communications - in order to assure that critical systems meet their respective requirements.  You’ll directly impact the energy sector by exploring the possibility of utilizing renewable energy over traditional generation types.  This is a chance to use your engineering skills while gaining experience in Defense and installation energy.  Join us and take on exciting challenges in the Department of Defense as we transform the definition of resilience. This position is open to remote delivery anywhere within the U.S., to include the District of Columbia.
