Job Description
Key Role:
Assist federal agency clients with developing, implementing, and overseeing Fire and Emergency Services (FES) and Emergency Management (EM) programs. Leverage professional knowledge and expertise about a wide variety of fire and emergency response related regulations, such as National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) codes and standards, policies, procedures, and technologies affecting federal agency activities and operations. Research issues sufficiently and communicate professionally and effectively both orally and in writing. Track and monitor the progress of multiple, complex, ongoing projects. Help with a wide variety of communications and outreach tasks associated with executing FES programs, including facilitating communications among a diverse set of internal and external stakeholders, communicating new program opportunities and enhanced program efficiencies, and managing outreach efforts on behalf of clients’ FES programs.
You Have:
2+ years of experience working in or supporting DoD
Experience with FES Administration, including with policies, guidance, and regulations, such as NFPA codes and standards
Experience with studies and analyses on new and emerging emergency response issues, challenges, and concerns
Experience with collaborative engagement with federal and state agencies and stakeholders on emergency issues
Experience with the Incident Command System (ICS)
Knowledge of leadership in interagency and interdisciplinary emergency response
Knowledge of interagency fire and emergency response operations, FES operation and incident response, and hazards incident response and interagency operations
Knowledge of wildland fire response and management
Ability to obtain a security clearance
Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management, Disaster Preparedness, Public Safety, Fire Protection, Science, or Engineering
Nice If You Have:
Experience with DoD Instruction (DoDI) 6055.06, DoD FES Program, and DoDI 6055.17, DoD EM Program
Experience with operating within a OSD, Service Staff, or Joint Staff environment
Experience with preparing communication and outreach documents, such as technical reports, white papers, executive summaries, briefs, meeting minutes, and presentations
Experience with drafting or reviewing a wide array of program communications, including informational brochures, fact sheets, posters, newsletters and other public outreach materials, emails, web postings and tweets, interactive storymaps, and other written communications
Experience with facilitating meetings
Experience with compiling and tracking multiple, complex data sets
Experience with preparing content for and updating government websites
Experience with developing communications strategies for large programs or organizations
Experience in ES project management and in ES Program support
Possession of excellent writing skills, including Plain English writing standards
Possession of excellent interdisciplinary collaboration and teamwork skills

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $58,400.00 to $133,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.Work Model
