Logistics Subject Matter Expert, Senior

Key Role:

Participate as a logistics subject matter expert in the planning, design, scoping, assessment, and implementation of in-country institutional capacity building projects with senior partner nation officials in ministries of defense, general staffs or joint staffs, or service staffs as a member of a Government-led team pursuing mutually agreed-upon security cooperation objectives that support of U.S. national security, and regional goals. Provide logistics functional analysis, assessment, facilitation, coaching, advice, best practices, lessons learned, and recommendations to client and partner nation senior officials. Prepare presentations, after-action reviews, and other written products to support implementing partner nation discussions and workshops. This position is open to remote delivery from any location in the U.S., to include the District of Columbia.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in planning, coordinating, and implementing logistics
  • 10+ years of experience with command or staff in Joint, combined, or service-focused military logistics​
  • Experience in logistics life cycle materiel planning and management, Logistics Acquisition Processes and Procedures, Materiel Readiness, Supply Chain Management, Vertically Integrated Logistics, Contested Logistics, Integrated Logistics Support, Contractor Logistics Support, Logistics Resource Management and Force structuring or Strategic Logistics Planning and Operations
  • Experience in working with allied or partner nations, preferably related to security cooperation efforts
  • Experience with staff assignments relating to logistics at operational- or strategic-level U.S. or Allied Headquarters including the Joint Staff, OSD, a Combatant Command or a supporting service component, a Service Staff, or a Defense Agency
  • Knowledge of security cooperation authorities, processes, procedures, and resources
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance
  • Master’s Degree

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with working in-country with partner nations in institutional capacity building endeavors
  • Experience as a defense or service attaché, foreign area officer, or security cooperation officer
  • Experience in coordinating activities with the Department of State or US embassies
  • Secret Clearance
  • Certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP)


Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

The proposed salary range for this position in Colorado is 120,000 to 130,000. Final salary will be determined based on various factors.
