Machine Learning Engineer, Senior

The Opportunity: 

As an experienced engineer, you know that machine learning is critical to understanding and processing massive datasets. Your ability to conduct statistical analyses on business processes using ML techniques makes you an integral part of delivering a customer-focused solution. We need your technical knowledge and desire to problem-solve to support the defense of critical infrastructure. As a machine learning engineer support our defense business you’ll train, test, deploy, and maintain models that learn from data.   

In this role, you’ll own and define the direction of mission-critical solutions by applying best-fit ML algorithms and technologies. You’ll be part of a large community of machine learning engineers across the firm and collaborate with data scientists, software engineers, and mission SMEs to deliver world class solutions to transfer the mission for our clients. Your advanced consulting skills and extensive technical expertise will guide clients as they navigate the landscape of ML algorithms, tools, and frameworks.

You Have:  

  • 4+ years of experience building robust, production-grade applications in a data science, machine learning engineering, or data research field, in a professional or academic environment

  • 2+ years of experience with programming, including machine learning frameworks, including TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch, Caffe, Python, or MXNET 

  • Experience with deploying AI and ML solutions into software architectures using Kubernetes 

  • Experience with machine learning, including linear, reinforcement learning, tree based, or deep learning-based methods and regularization approaches for each

  • Experience with programming, including with R

  • Experience with MLOps and GitOps

  • Experience with deploying machine learning models into a production environment

  • Knowledge of Databricks, PyTorch, Tensorflow, Langchain, or Kubernetes 

  • Ability to obtain a security clearance

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering

Nice If You Have:  

  • Experience with client engagements, client-facing project work, and business development

  • Experience with developing software architectures with containerization tools, including Docker and Kubernetes 

  • Knowledge of cloud infrastructure, including AWS, Azure, and GCP

  • Ability to work in a Linux environment with bash scripting

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science or Data Science

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $93,300.00 to $212,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
