Microelectronics and Advanced Packaging Consultant

Key Role:

Support major microelectronics programs in the areas of design, verification, fabrication, packaging, technology node access, integrity, trust, and assurance. Provide technical and programmatic advice and support services for a range of advanced weapon systems, sensors, and computer processing-related technologies and programs. Assist the government with technical assessments, strategic planning, and engineering evaluations. Support the design, development, test, fielding, and sustainment of advanced microelectronics systems and associated trust and assurance programs. Assist the government with preparing assessments of technical progress toward major engineering milestones for a portfolio of unique and sensitive government programs. Maintain modernization tech roadmaps related to microelectronics, including all DoD activities and applicable program elements that are current and updated at the direction of the respective program directors, coordinate roadmaps with key stakeholders, including DoD leaders, the Services, Agencies, and other key partners, and refine and update Science and Technology (S&T) roadmaps based on feedback from stakeholders and changes to technology development investments.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience with microelectronics systems engineering, integration, and technology development programs

  • 2+ years of experience with industry-standard FEM tools, including ANSYS and ABAQUS, numerical simulation, including MATLAB and Scientific Python, or EDA tools, including Cadence, Synopsys, Verilog, SPICE, or Mentor/Siemens

  • Knowledge of packaging technology development FMEAs and physical and electrical product packaging requirements

  • Knowledge of SOC IP integration and RTL Design for performance, low area, and low power

  • Ability to work as an effective team player with a continuous learning mindset

  • Ability to obtain a security clearance

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with microelectronics verification, security, trust, or assurance preferred

  • Knowledge of substrate, bumping, packaging technologies, assembly process, packaging materials, reliability standards, and failure analysis

  • Possession of excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Science preferred; Doctorate degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Science a plus

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $58,400.00 to $133,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
