Munitions and Energetic Systems Engineer, Lead

The Opportunity:

What if you could use your engineering expertise to develop next-generation defense tools and technology? As a lead engineer, you’ll engage inleading-edge munitions and subsystem technologies critical to national defense for advancing fuzing, warheads, propulsion, survivability, and munitions power technologies. We need your skills and expertise in advanced energetic to develop creative solutions that directly impact the Warfighter.

As a Munitions and Energetics Systems Lead Engineer, you’ll develop and apply advanced systems methods, theories, and research techniques to munitions technology. You’ll support the development of plans and strategies to advance, develop, and transition munitions and energetics science and technology (S&T). You will coordinate with stakeholders and technical teams and manage munitions S&T investment. You will be a part of a team to provide support to the program manager in munitions and energetics coordinating activities, meetings, and convening events.

You Have: 

  • 15+ years of experience with Ordnance in support of DoD Research, Development, Test, or Evaluation
  • Experience with Ordnance Engineering activities and advanced energetics technologies
  • Experience in coordinating and planning with DoD, Government, or Industry activities for munitions or energetics systems research, development, testing, or application
  • Knowledge of DoD munitions and energetics requirements, qualifications, and applications
  • Knowledge of the issues affecting the U.S. energetics technology and production industrial base
  • Ability to communicate information on the generation of munitions and energetics technology, including presentations, documentation, and content for senior-level government stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently to develop recommended methodologies and approaches to resolving a strategic or tactical issue, consolidating government and industry perspectives, and presenting a recommended way forward
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Ability to think strategically and comprehend the tactical details of an issue
  • Ability to pay strict attention to detail and address multiple assignments concurrently
  • Possession of excellent leadership and listening skills

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $93,300.00 to $212,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
