Operations Specialist and Training Manager

As an Operations Specialist, you'll perform client-site work to execute detailed contingency operations plans, exercise plans, and emergency action plans requiring extensive inter-organizational coordination. You will perform complex watch standing duties to provide situational awareness, decision support, communications facilitation, and interagency coordination for emergency management situations. You will bring your analytical, tactical, and problem-solving background to work on projects supporting emergency response and contingency operations. You have prior military experience, now continue your mission with us. This is a hybrid role that requires the right mix of both operations support and training development and management. As the Training Manager, you will leverage your operational background, along with advanced consulting and extensive technical expertise and full industry knowledge, to identify and monitor training needs in the organization and design, and assist with the planning and implementing of training programs, policies, and procedures to fulfill those needs. You will design, implement, and evaluate an organization's learning courses and programs. You’ll develop training roadmaps to document organizational training requirements, dependencies, and appropriate training pathways to achieve preferred organizational proficiency.

You Have:  

  • 6+ years of experience as a leader of projects, tasks, or major sub-tasks, including operations plan development, organizational exercise planning and training management, rapid response planning for crisis management and continuity of operations sustainment, emergency management, interagency planning or coordination, or lessons learned management

  • Experience working in operations centers or fusion centers, including planning and execution

  • Knowledge of DoD terminology and concepts

  • Ability to perform full-spectrum watch-standing tasks in an operations center environment

  • Ability to articulate complex topics clearly and communicate both verbally and in writing effectively

  • Ability to evaluate and assess organizational training resources against organizational objectives, identify gaps, and develop training objectives, course outlines, and full training programs to meet organizational goals

  • TS/SCI clearance

  • HS diploma or GED

Nice If You Have:  

  • Experience as a former government civilian or former military member

  • Experience as an Action Officer

  • Experience with consulting and project management

  • Knowledge of learning and developing concepts, models, theories, and approaches

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a mixed government, military, and contractor environment, perform under minimal supervision and oversight, and work independently to complete defined objective and deliverable

  • Associates degree preferred; Bachelor’s degree a plus

  • Project Management Certification

  • Certified Professional in Training Management (CPTM), Associate Professional in Talent Development (APTD), Certified Professional in Talent Development (CPTD), or Certified Training and Development Professional (CTDP) Certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $81,800.00 to $186,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
