We’re looking for an experienced communications specialist like you, who is ready to grow and willing to win for the client and live our mission every day. Here, you’ll advance your consulting skills to design, develop, produce, and consult on a variety of internal and external communication materials and media that supports national defense.
As a communications specialist on our team, you’ll closely impact the development of creative solutions to complex problems. Your self-guided yet collaborative spirit will shape and nurture relationships with team members, stakeholders, and clients to advance initiatives focused on developing the military force of the future.
As a collaborator on all aspects of oral and written communications, you’ll author talking points, presentation materials, information papers, communications guides, visual aids, posters, email messages, and articles in direct support of DoD general officers, flag officers, and senior executive service members. You'll prepare and facilitate client meetings to help action officers and leaders craft recommendations for their senior leaders. You'll enable a client office to coordinate communications and engagement for a large, geographically dispersed DoD organization. Your creative-thinking and business-oriented mindset will guide your client to inform key audiences through words, images, and sound with tools that include the full range of Microsoft Office 365 applications on unclassified and classified computer networks.

You Have:
5+ years of experience with developing and coordinating communications for senior leaders, including military general or flag officers, national or state legislators, or corporate executives
5+ years of experience with analyzing the mission, roles, and objectives of an organization and developing communications strategies and materials to achieve them
2+ years of experience with graphic design and working with systems, such as Adobe Photoshop
Ability to communicate complex ideas at differing levels of classification to a wide array of audiences, including industry, foreign government officials, military allies, US government officials, and academia
Ability to simultaneously manage long and short-term deliverables in a fast-paced, demanding environment, where flexibility is required to independently answer short-suspense information requests
Ability to develop information products and talking points at all classification levels
Ability to provide writing and graphic design work samples
Top Secret clearance
Bachelor's degree
Nice If You Have:
Experience working in a Joint Staff or Office
Experience in developing recommendations to senior leaders on what audiences they should communicate and engage with to achieve their organization's objectives
Experience working with the DoD or defense organization as a military service member, civilian, or contractor
Knowledge of Joint Staff processes and procedures
Knowledge of the Joint Strategic Planning System and the responsibilities defined in Title 10, U.S. Code
Master's degree in Strategic Communications, Public Affairs, National Defense, International Relations, International Security, or Graphic Design
Clearance:
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Top Secret clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $54,000.00 to $123,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
