Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance Advisor

The Opportunity: 

As an operations analyst, you’re passionate about exploring the root cause of an issue and then analyzing, reporting, and developing recommendations for a creative solution. We need an experienced research analyst like you to help us solve complex problems for our clients. On our Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) team, you’ll evaluate data assessment strategies, such as operational employment, comprehension of strategies, plans, and policies and future concepts to deliver solutions. 

You won’t go at it alone. You’ll work alongside other warfighting experts to conduct research, prepare graphs and charts, and analyze and interpret programmatic or cost data, such as life cycle cost models and estimates, cost and benefit analyses, what-if analysis, and operational impact studies. Once documented, you’ll develop white papers, strategies, presentations, graphs, and other visualizations to present results, collaborate with stakeholders, and participate in various program meetings to improve program efficiency. 

In this role, you’ll use your passion for analytics and statistics to devise modeling and measuring techniques utilizing mathematics, statistical methods, engineering methods, operational mathematics techniques, such as probability theory and other principles and laws of scientific and economic disciplines. 

Use your operations research knowledge to develop technologies and concepts that advance the DoD and DARPA mission.

You Have:   

  • 10+ years of experience with operations research within military service or the DoD
  • Experience in a U.S. Space Force or Service Component, including the U.S. Space Command
  • Experience with Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System (JCIDS)
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite tools, including Excel
  • Knowledge of warfighter needs
  • Ability to provide analysis of technological solutions for the DoD, military service, and government agency operational challenges, capability gaps, and future shortfalls 
  • TS/SCI clearance 
  • Bachelor's degree

Nice If You Have:   

  • Experience as a staff officer within a DoD Headquarters, military service, or Combatant Command
  • Knowledge of current and projected acquisition programs within the respective service
  • Ability to provide operational expertise in the evaluation and comprehension of strategies, plans, and policies and future concepts for space operations throughout the DoD, military service, and other government agencies 
  • Master's degree

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $65,300.00 to $149,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
