Electronic Laboratory Reporting Analyst

Key Role:

Applies expert understanding of public health and laboratory science disciplines to design, develop, and implement laboratory data exchange solutions. Collaborates with informatics, technology, and public health professionals to enable electronic laboratory reporting (ELR). Facilitates onboarding organizations, including laboratories, state public health laboratories, or state health departments to modernize laboratory reporting and utilize ELR. Supports test workflow development within laboratory information management systems (LIMS), codification, data validation, and training. Troubleshoots issues from stakeholders such as testing laboratories and ELR recipients. Supports the implementation of data standards. Works under direct supervision.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience with using Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • 2+ years of experience as the main point of contact for multiple stakeholders at one time, responding to their communications and inquiries, and monitoring the status of multiple components of a project

  • 1+ year of experience with creating and delivering presentations for laboratory science or public health professional staff, translating very technical information into plain language

  • Knowledge of HL7 ELR messaging

  • Ability to learn complex IT systems quickly

  • Ability to follow and develop standard operating procedures

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements 

  • Bachelor's degree

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with laboratory information management systems (LIMS)

  • Experience with infectious disease related molecular and serology laboratory tests

  • Experience with implementing HL7 messaging capabilities and analyzing raw HL7 message data

  • Experience working in a federal or state public health laboratory or health department setting

  • Knowledge of laboratory quality standards and requirements, including CLIA

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $51,600.00 to $105,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
