Network Architect

The Opportunity: 

A well-designed network is critical to move data and enable agencies to achieve their missions, but how can an organization make sure their network will fit their current and evolving needs? Crafting the right network, with the right equipment and software, requires a combination of technical skill and careful planning. That’s why we need you, a network engineer who knows how to develop the exact network the client needs.  As a network engineer on our team, you’ll use your skills in network design and architecture, system interoperability, OSI model, and network transport layers, to help support the nation’s defense and respond to evolving adversaries. You’ll troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues and analyze current working infrastructures and increase security, reliability, and availability for mission-critical network systems.  

You’ll apply your knowledge in [routing and switching, integration of encryption gear, network design and architecture, system interoperability, IP engineering, and network transport layers as you join our team of problem-solvers to help the client evolve and deploy new capabilities and technologies. Your knowledge of network protocols, equipment, emerging technology, and configurations will come in handy as you help optimize client operations and modernization. Using your experience in cryptography, key management, software and hardware firewalls, you’ll serve as a trusted advisor to clients on mission-critical projects. Using your technical curiosity and knowledge of industry standards, you’ll make an impact on national security missions.

You Have: 

  • 3+ years of experience in network architecture

  • Experience with Virtual Networks such as VMWARE machines

  • Experience with UNIX, LINUX, Redhat and RHEL version 6 or above

  • Experience with Crypto, COMSEC, ViPER and VOIP

  • Knowledge on IPv4 use, IP address assignment and tracking methodology

  • Knowledge of network topology diagrams and modifying as needed using MS Visio

  • Ability to install and configure network devices

  • Secret clearance

  • Bachelor's degree

  • CompTIA+ Network+, or Security+ Certification

Nice If You Have: 

  • Experience with enterprise network management tools to monitor network performance status

  • Knowledge of basic configuration management policies, procedures and documentation requirements

  • Knowledge of secure device access control login methods and security compliance

  • Knowledge of VoIP devices and background call management systems

  • Knowledge of STIG network device security compliance and security hardening requirements

  • Knowledge on basic data cryptographic techniques and government classified networks   

  • Knowledge of virtual networking technologies and firewall security concepts

  • CCNA or CISSP Certification

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $58,300.00 to $133,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
