Data Engineer, Mid

Key Role:

Use agile methodologies to support the design, development, and implementation of native and cloud-based data components. Evaluate database design and architecture and support the deployment of applications in AWS cloud environments. Program systems, scripts, and queries in conjunction with SQL databases, NoSQL databases, and AWS.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience with programming

  • 8+ years of experience with SQL

  • Experience creating database and programming scripts based upon user submitted requirements

  • Experience providing rational analysis of data and means to improve structure and integrity

  • Ability to design ERDs and produce high quality engineering design documents

  • Ability to apply complex business logic to programs, scripts, and queries that interface with large databases

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements

  • Bachelor's degree

Additional Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience with NoSQL

  • Experience with programming in an object-oriented language

  • Experience with Big Data

  • Experience with boto3 programming

  • Experience with programming systems that interface with AWS resources

  • Experience with querying Elasticsearch or OpenSearch

  • Experience with data associated with Health, Human Biology, or Clinical Trials

  • Experience with modern data warehouses and data architecture

  • Public Trust

  • Master's degree

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $58,400.00 to $133,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
