As a data scientist, you can turn these complex data sets into useful information to solve global challenges. Across private and public sectors — from fraud detection, to cancer research, to national intelligence — you know the answers are in the data.
We have an opportunity for you to use your analytical skills to improve mission area throughout the DoD. You’ll work closely with your customer to understand their questions and needs, and then dig into their data-rich environment to find the pieces of their information puzzle. You’ll mentor teammates, develop algorithms, write scripts, build predictive analytics, use automation, apply machine learning, and use the right combination of tools and frameworks to turn that set of disparate data points into objective answers to help customer and internal leadership make informed decisions. You’ll provide your customer with a deep understanding of their data, what it all means, and how they can use it. Join us as we use data science for good in the DoD.

You Have:
3+ years of experience with data architecture, data engineering, or data science
3+ years of experience with big data, including Hadoop, Apache Spark, or Apache Nifi
Experience with technologies and data architectures associated with big data and AI, including Databricks and SageMaker
Experience with elastic stack, including Elasticsearch, logstash, and Kibana and visualization platforms, including Tableau, Kabana, and Grafana
Experience with software design, solution, application, or technical architecture in Cloud environments for AI applications, including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
Experience with programming language, including Python, R, or SQL
Ability to assist with the testing and development of new systems
Ability to obtain a security clearance
Bachelor's degree
Nice If You Have:
Experience with open-source platforms, including Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Minio
Ability to explore ways to apply existing analytical techniques to new data sets
Ability to maintain a level of predictive analytic proficiency necessary to keep up with the state of the art
Ability to be self-driven and work at pace in a dynamic organization
Possession of excellent teamwork, co-ordination, planning and influencing skills
Possession of excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills
Master's degree

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $58,400.00 to $133,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.Work Model
