The Opportunity:
As an aerospace engineer, you know leading-edge space capabilities are critical to national defense. At Booz Allen, you can use your engineering and analysis expertise to develop next-generation defense tools and technology. We need your skills and expertise in astrodynamics and space situational awareness (SSA) in order to develop creative space control solutions that directly impact the warfighter.
As an aerospace engineer on our team, you’ll provide expertise in evaluating new technologies, performing space protection and threat analyses, and improving the design of aerospace systems. Your experience in orbital mechanics, visualization, and modeling is key and makes you an integral part of delivering a client-focused solution.
In this role, you’ll contribute to the direction of mission-critical solutions by evaluating, improving, and designing leading-edge aerospace technology. You’ll work with a large community of developers and engineers across the firm and collaborate with the client to deliver world-class solutions to develop new aerospace technologies. Your engineering knowledge will help the client to expand and improve their capabilities to protect national security, its assets, and the warfighter.

You Have:
- 5+ years of experience in the aerospace domain
- Experience as a lead performer for orbital analysis, visualization development, and space protection and threat analyses for an integrated team
- Ability to conduct extensive astrodynamics domain analysis in support of software development efforts
- Ability to work directly with a software engineering team to investigate and improve software capabilities
- Ability to operate with limited direct supervision and functions as an organizational leader
- TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph
- Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Orbital Mechanics, Physics, or Engineering Technology
Nice If You Have:
- Experience with model-based systems engineering
- Experience with developing software or software platforms
- Experience in orbit determination or spacecraft trajectory design
- Experience with mathematics, including partial derivatives, coordinate systems, transformations, and estimation theory
- Knowledge of domain areas, including low-thrust trajectory optimization, general trajectory optimization, optimal control, attitude control and determination, or orbit determination
- Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
- Possession of excellent interpersonal skills
Clearance:
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $81,800.00 to $186,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.Work Model
