Speechwriter Specialist

The Opportunity:

As speechwriter, you know how to inform and engage key audiences, communicate the organization’s strategic vision, and help promote the organization’s reputation. We’re looking for an experienced speechwriter like you, who is ready to grow and live our mission every day. Here, you’ll advance your writing and consulting skills to design, develop, produce, and consult on a variety of internal and external communication materials and media that support the space and defense industry. 

As a speechwriter on our team, you’ll closely impact the development of creative solutions to complex problems. Your self-guided yet collaborative spirit will shape and nurture relationships with team members, stakeholders, and clients to create awareness of mission activities and nurture the relationship between the client, the workforce, and the general public. As a collaborator on all aspects of verbal and written communications, you’ll author speeches, workforce messages, news articles, and social media content for internal and external stakeholders. The message you create will inform the workforce, engage the general public, and highlight important organizational events. Your creative-thinking and business-oriented mindset will guide your client to inform key audiences. Work with us as we design, develop, and produce communication products to change security in the space and defense industry for the better.

You Have:   

  • 6+ years of experience providing support in public affairs, communication, or journalism

  • Ability to interact professionally with senior government leaders

  • TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications or Journalism

Nice If You Have:   

  • Experience in the Intelligence Community or Department of Defense

Clearance: 

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $84,600.00 to $193,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
