Linux Systems Engineer

The Challenge:

We’re looking for a systems administrator to maintain Linux-based virtual machines, perform server health checks, server hardening and patching, backup and disaster recovery planning, and automation using Ansible. The Linux systems administrator will provide technical knowledge on tasks or technology assignments, and lead communication and collaboration with the technical leadership team.

The Linux systems administrator will serve as the on-site Linux SME for the IPT programmatic and technical leads, communicating critical and time-sensitive planning, performance, and risk mitigation directly to the technical leadership team. You'll monitor system performance, including legacy servers and Cloud systems, and solve legacy server and Cloud and virtualization issues. You'll maintain and develop Red Hat-based solutions in a virtual environment.

You Have:

  • 10+ years of experience with Linux-based IT systems and applications, including Splunk and Ansible Tower

  • Experience with NIX operating systems and MacOS

  • Experience with start and automation scripts and programming

  • Ability to obtain a security clearance

  • HS diploma or GED

  • DOD 8570, IAT Level II certification, including Security+

  • RedHat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) certification

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience with DoD Security Technical Implementation Guide implementation and maintenance for approved operating systems

Clearance:

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $73,100.00 to $166,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
