Job Description
Key Role:
Applies engineering physics, engineering mathematics and materials science principles to support the design, analysis, manufacture or maintenance of mechanical systems. Applies advanced consulting skills, extensive technical expertise and full industry knowledge. Develops innovative solutions to complex problems. Works without considerable direction and mentors and may supervise team members.
Basic Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in mechanical engineering
Experience with the DoD acquisition process
Knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and thermodynamics
Knowledge of mechanical design standards and practices for defense systems
Ability to read, draw, and understand technical manuals, schematics and assembly drawings
Ability to perform quantitative analysis of mechanical system designs through review of design artifacts
Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team consisting of systems engineers, electrical and electronics engineers, acquisition professionals, and logistics and sustainment professionals to achieve program outcomes
Ability to communicate advanced concepts in engineering clearly and translate to non-technical individuals
Secret clearance
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
Additional Qualifications:
Experience with US Air Force Aircraft test systems, or weapon systems
Experience with Systems Engineering
Experience with certification processes
Ability to follow established safety practices and requirements
Knowledge of nuclear surety and certification requirements
Possession of excellent written and verbal communication skills, including technical communication
Top Secret clearance
Master’s degree in mechanical engineering
Professional Engineer (PE)Certification
Clearance:

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $84,600.00 to $193,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
