Defense Mission Expert and Business Development Director

Key Role:

Serve as senior leader to work within Booz Allen’s Joint Combatant Command (JCC) market team to develop, socialize, and execute a robust business growth strategy.  Engage and work closely with market team peers to develop a multi-year pipeline, drive new business growth, and lead proposal and business development activities. Lead geographically dispersed market teams and business staff for complex capture efforts by coordinating market analysis, competitor analysis, technical solutioning, gap analysis, and teaming activities in alignment with the firm's strategies and objectives. Challenge and improve the baseline business constantly and conceptualize and propose new capability ideas for future growth based on client needs, including novel technical solutions. Develop and maintain a robust, collaborative network across the firm, as well as broad relationships throughout industry and government. Direct all phases of contract execution and delivery and maintain responsibility for cost, schedule, performance, planning, resourcing, hiring, and risk management for successful technical performance. Interact directly with multiple senior-level leaders and coordinate all phases of strategy and business development and capture activities.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of experience with leading capture activities for government acquisitions
  • 15+ years of experience in program management roles, including leading geographically dispersed and technically diverse teams to successful delivery on complex programs
  • 10+ years of experience in developing and executing business strategies to achieve successful, quality growth
  • 5+ years of experience with technical or engineering work in the DoD
  • Experience with analyzing and executing capture plans for system development and maintenance efforts or technical programs, including leading the business development life cycle from opportunity identification to proposal development
  • Knowledge of NORAD and USNORTHCOM, USSTRATCOM, and USTRANSCOM missions, operations, and supporting activities and current portfolios of IT systems and programs
  • Knowledge of DoD government contracts, acquisition, and proposal processes
  • TS/SCI clearance
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification

Additional Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of DOT&E Joint Test & Evaluation (JT&E) Program
  • Master's degree preferred

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $153,400.00 to $285,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
