Systems Administrator

The Opportunity:  

Your combination of people skills and system administrator knowledge makes you the team hero, solving one problem after another. What if you could use those skills to improve the technology supporting national security? We’re looking for a system administrator with experience operating and maintaining op-prem software defined data centers to help us meet the ever-evolving IT needs of delivery teams supporting client work on classified projects. 

As a system administrator on our team, you’ll help on-board new software and capabilities onto a virtual desktop infrastructure, integrate and test them in a development environment, deploy them into production, and maintain them through operations. You’ll help clients overcome tough challenges through monitoring and performance management. Your knowledge will be vital as you identify problem areas and opportunities for improvement in a mission-critical network. Your communication skills will come in handy as you turn metrics into information and articulate their meaning.

This is an opportunity to gain experience in Cloud computing, virtualization, and Infrastructure as Code. We focus on growing as a team, so we’ll share techniques, work through challenges, and develop new methodologies together. You Have: 

  • 2+ years of experience as a systems administrator with Windows, Unix, or Linux operating systems 

  • Experience with storage and active directory administration 

  • Experience with monitoring and maintaining various technologies and systems 

  • Experience with installing, configuring, optimizing and securing infrastructure components 

  • Experience IT hardware and operations

  • Experience in servers, storage and network device installation, provisioning, and monitoring 

  • Ability to follow and work schedules using Agile Methodologies 

  • Secret clearance 

  • HS diploma or GED

  • DoD 8570 IAT II Certification, including Security+ CE

Nice If You Have: 

  • Experience with SAFe Agile Methodologies

  • Experience with Red Hat Linux (RHEL) and Splunk

  • Experience with Risk Management Framework (RMF) and NIST 800-53

  • Experience in YAML, Unix shell scripting, PowerShell, or command-line interfaces   

  • Knowledge of systems and network security, auditing, and storage processes 

  • Master's degree

  • Cisco or VMware Certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $58,300.00 to $133,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
