Tier II Network Administrator

Key Role:

Analyze, administer, and support voice, video, and data communications networks. Manage the Enterprise Network for resource availability. Process Authorized Service Interruptions (ASIs) as directed by management. Provide After Action Reports (AARs) for Problem Management resolution. Evaluate hardware and software, including peripheral and output equipment. Participate in and lead aspects of major network installations and upgrades. Provide advice and training to end-users.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Experience with LAN and WAN troubleshooting and network troubleshooting techniques
  • Experience with WAN circuit technologies, including T1, DS3, OC-3, OC-12, or OC-192
  • Knowledge of operating systems and applications as they pertain to the network environment
  • Knowledge of Cisco and Juniper routers and switches
  • Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve operating and hardware network system problems
  • Ability to ensure compliance with network security policies and procedures
  • TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph
  • DoD 8570 IAT II and CCNA certifications
  • HS diploma or GED and 8+ years of experience with network administration, Associate's degree and 6+ years of experience with network administration, Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of experience with network administration, Master's degree and 2+ years of experience with network administration, or Doctorate degree

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with programming and troubleshooting KG-175A and KG-175D encryptors, including 10G encryptors
  • Experience with monitoring and configurating crypto equipment
  • Knowledge of critical vs non-critical requirements
  • Knowledge of system trade studies
  • Ability to present complex issues in clearly written language
  • Ability to use diagrams, tables, or figures to improve the presentation of technical material
  • Ability to ensure key business issues are addressed and consistent with the organization’s goals and objectives
  • Ability to analyze complex situations and utilize problem-solving skills under pressure
  • Ability to learn new communications technologies quickly and apply as needed to resolve problems

Clearance:
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $73,000.00 to $166,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
