System Administrator, Mid

Key Role:

Install, configure, and maintain mid-range operating systems. Apply specific functional knowledge and working and general industry knowledge. Develop or contribute to solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity. Work independently with some guidance and review or guide activities of junior employees, as needed.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of experience with system administration
  • Experience maintaining virtual machines
  • Experience with Windows 10 and Windows 2016 servers
  • Experience maintaining Linux environments
  • Experience troubleshooting technical issues in custom software written in Java and Python
  • TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph
  • HS diploma or GED
  • Ability to obtain IAT Level II Certification within 180 days of start date

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with system state management tools, such as Ansible for Linux and Desired State Configuration (DSC) for Windows
  • Experience with source control tools, such as Git
  • Experience with system monitoring tools, such as Nagios or Zabbix
  • Experience with system scripting languages, such as Bash and PowerShell
  • Experience writing technical documentation
  • Experience maintaining Elasticsearch or Elastic-stack products
  • Ability to identify and respond to security advisories and apply vendor patches
  • Ability to maintain software development infrastructure supporting three environments, including developing, testing, and producing in a fast-paced, highly technical environment
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • IAT Level II Certification

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $52,100.00 to $119,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
