Electro-Optical and Infrared Subject Matter Expert

The Opportunity:

As an electrical engineer, you understand the workings behind complex systems. That knowledge is key when it comes to Electro-Optical and Infrared (EO/IR) Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation (RDT&E). We’re looking for an electrical engineer who can use their skills in support of our client in electro-optic technology.

At Booz Allen, you’ll use your engineering skills to transform EO/IR. Our team provides RDT&E support to government clients. That’s why we need an electrical engineer like you who is a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in EO/IR to help us with development-related analytical services in support of our client. On our team, you’ll provide SME support to our customer through EO/IR RDT&E. You’ll directly impact the mission of our client. We’ll look to you to share your electrical engineering expertise through leadership and mentoring junior staff. This is a chance to use your experience-based knowledge in EO/IR.

You Have: 

  • Experience contributing to the design, development, and integration of EO/IR systems into larger projects or platforms
  • Experience conducting testing and evaluation of EO/IR systems to ensure performance, reliability, and compliance with specifications
  • Experience using EO/IR simulation tools and software development
  • Experience with the industries or applications where EO/IR technologies are deployed such as defense, surveillance, aerospace, or industrial applications
  • Knowledge of EO/IR technologies, including sensors, imaging systems, and hardware or software
  • Ability to provide technical support in troubleshooting and resolving issues for EO/IR systems
  • Ability to prepare technical documentation, reports, and presentations to communicate findings, recommendations, and project status
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in EE, Optics, or Physics

Nice If You Have: 

  • Experience working in the design, development, and testing of EO/IR systems
  • Knowledge of emerging technologies and trends in EO/IR
  • Possession of strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex technical challenges
  • Master's degree in EE, Optics, Physics, or a related field

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $73,100.00 to $166,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
