University, Cybersecurity Consultant Intern

The Opportunity:

When our country’s cybersecurity is on the line, simply reacting is not enough – we need a plan. And when that plan needs to protect the lives of the heroes defending our country’s freedoms, we need strategic policy and technical solutions. That’s why we need you, a cybersecurity engineer, with the skills to analyze the risks that determine our DoD cloud cybersecurity resilience.

As a cybersecurity engineer on our team, you’ll conduct testing and analysis to identify vulnerabilities and potential threat vectors, including attack paths, into cloud systems and networks, learn to counter exploits and attacks. As you work with a team to guide the client through understanding acceptable risk without compromising availability, you’ll help develop a strategic cybersecurity roadmap and use various skills to create solutions. You’ll work as part of a team with the client to help them operate mission securely as they navigate an everchanging and evolving cloud environment. You Have:

  • Knowledge of the basic concepts of cybersecurity analysis tools and techniques

  • Knowledge of basic cybersecurity principles, best practices, common threats, and attacks

  • Knowledge of operating systems and basic networking infrastructures

  • Ability to research and provide recommendations on cybersecurity topics

  • Ability to obtain a security clearance

  • Scheduled to obtain a Bachelor’s degree in Winter 2024 or Spring/Summer 2025 in Engineering, Cybersecurity, or Computer Science

  • DoD 8570 certifications, including IAT level 2 certification

Nice if You Have:

  • Experience with Linux

  • Experience with command line

  • Knowledge of Risk Management Framework

  • Knowledge of NIST SP 800-53 to analyze documentation against cybersecurity data

  • Ability to read architecture diagrams

  • Ability to leverage expertise in technical writing and presentations

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $49,900.00 to $102,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
