Job Description
Key Role:
Support federal health research and development (R&D) organizations, including the Advanced Research Projects Agency – Health (ARPA-H), as a Science, Engineering, and Technology Adviser (SETA) supporting ARPANET-H. Serve as a lead on the development of ARPANET-H’s Customer Experience Hub operations, providing a designer’s perspective on the challenges that must be overcome to accelerate transformative health innovations so that end-users and other key stakeholders enthusiastically adopt them. Develop strategy and support the implementation of services that incorporate patient-centric design into ARPA-H’s processes. Drive the development of strategy for the ARPA-H Customer Experience Hub. Provide key services and transition programs to support the health innovation program lifecycle. Devise routes for the Hub to integrate health research or innovation development with diverse lived experiences, such as through observation-based ethnographic research, digital diaries, social media scraping, and immersive experiences. Coordinate with the Health Innovation Network Lead in support of ARPA-H Program Managers, their performers, other ARPA-H leaders, and government counterparts to use this Hub and its user-centered services to enhance health innovations and clinical trial approaches. Develop success metrics and guide monitoring and evaluating of these indicators, including opportunities for intentional reflection and adjustments. Craft external communications that communicate the value of the Customer Experience Hub.
Basic Qualifications:
- 10+ years experience in a professional environment
- Experience with developing communication strategies around large projects and initiatives
- Experience working with and directly supporting senior leaders
- Experience with using Microsoft Office Suite, design software, and communication tools
- Ability to think creatively, analyze complex situations, identify problems, and recommend solutions
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human-Centered Design or Customer Experience
Additional Qualifications:
- Experience with clinical trials
- Knowledge of health innovation trends
- Ability to be a creative thinker
- Possession of excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills
- Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills
- Masters degree

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $81,800.00 to $186,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.Work Model
