The Opportunity:
A well-designed network is critical to move data and enable the client to achieve their missions, but how can an organization make sure their network will fit their current and evolving needs? Crafting the right network, with the right equipment and software, requires a combination of technical skill and careful planning. That’s why we need you, a seasoned network engineer who knows how to develop the exact network for various DoD Services and their needs.
As a network engineer on our team, you’ll use your experience in network design and architecture and system interoperability, and support the end-to-end capability solution development, integration, testing and delivery as a network engineer with an Agile focus. You'll provide network, website, and application design, code and database development, utilize tools, provide stability and data and information assurance of various mission critical applications, perform network and system installation, version and configuration control, understand and utilize various languages, such as C+, Python, SQL, and Java, and apply knowledge and advanced technical skills to mature solutions in support of client capabilities development that align with acquisition planning, research, and analysis, network transport layers, multi-protocol label switching, gateway protocol, virtual routing, and forwarding to support the nation’s defense and respond to evolving adversaries. You’ll upgrade or develop enterprise-wide infrastructure, troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues, analyze current working infrastructures, and increase security, reliability, and availability for mission-critical network systems.
Your knowledge of network protocols, equipment, emerging technology, and configurations will come in handy as you optimize client operations and modernization. Using your experience in cryptographic equipment, cryptography, key management, software and hardware firewalls, Cisco hardware, and cloud migration, you'll work with the DoD to incorporate programming languages, modelling languages, query languages, and transformation languages. You’ll review technical, environmental, and personnel details from SMEs and engineers to assess the entire common operating environment (COE) and serve as a trusted advisor to clients on mission-critical projects. Using your technical curiosity and knowledge of industry standards, you’ll make an impact on national security missions.

You Have:
Experience building and testing applications for user needs and facilitating understanding via written and verbal methods
Experience with SQL, building and testing applications, and implementing solutions to optimize performance
Experience with designing frontend or backend architecture with clear and specific external integration standards and assurance processes
Experience with coding or programming frontend or backend architecture
Ability to write and review code or scripts and collaborate with web developers using C++, Java, Python, Ruby, Ruby on Rails, HTML, and C+
Ability to monitor overall network system performance or program functions to include developing and installing network infrastructure, configuration and equipment such as routers and switches, audit IP addresses, and investigate faults.
Ability to manipulate database queries, webpages, and web storage
Ability to travel OCONUS up to 25% of the time
Ability to obtain a security clearance
HS diploma or GED and 10+ years of experience with network design, system design, and coding or Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of experience with network design, system design, and coding
Nice If You Have:
Experience with the latest Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGS) released by the DoD
Knowledge of systems of systems engineering principles, processes, methodologies, or best practices
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Computer Science preferred; Master's degree in Engineering or Computer Science a plus
Security+, Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA), VMware Certified Associate (VCA), VMware Certified Professional (VCP), Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), and Azure Administrator Associate or higher Certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $93,300.00 to $212,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.Work Model
