Cyber Security Technical Writer

Key Role:

Develop technical and programmatic documentation by working across functional areas with the engineering, cyber, operations, and support services. Collaborate with technical and non-technical teams to compile updates to a variety of artifacts and incorporate them into a document management system, ensuring proper approval and vetting processes are observed. Author, review, and update document types that support Risk Management Framework (RMF), including Information Support Plan, Program Protection Plan, System Security Plan, and others.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience using Microsoft Office Suite applications
  • Experience working in Acquisition
  • Knowledge of Cyber technologies and terms
  • Knowledge of Security Classification guides and security marking requirements
  • Knowledge of RMF
  • Ability to translate verbal requirements into the written documents, working with multiple stakeholders in the deconfliction of requirements relating to document creation and updates to existing documents
  • Ability to provide a writing sample
  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree

  • Experience with document and process management tools
  • Knowledge of Program Management Office responsibilities
  • Knowledge of various operating systems and platforms
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and take direction and initiative to work independently
  • Possession of excellent problem-solving skills
  • Possession of excellent writing and document formatting skills
  • Possession of excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • TS/SCI clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in English or Business Administration

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $58,300.00 to $133,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
