As a space systems engineer on our team, you will work with Booz Allen colleagues and the U.S. Military to develop and deploy the next generation of resilient Missile Warning (MW), Environmental Monitoring (EM), and Tactical Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (TISR) capabilities to deliver critical information to our warfighters to quickly win or even prevent future wars. Your client will trust you to develop Technical Requirements Documents (TRDs), Interface Control Documents (ICDs), technical assessments, verification plans, and digital mission and system models for satellite systems and payloads. You will grow your skills by researching new requirements, technologies, and threats and using innovative engineering methodologies and tools to create tomorrow’s solutions.

You Have:  

  • 8+ years of experience with systems engineering 

  • 4+ years of experience with large-scale space mission and systems engineering and integration on national security space programs  

  • 4+ years of experience with performing systems engineering analysis and developing systems engineering products for satellite systems  

  • 2+ years of experience with using Model-Based Systems Engineering tools, including Sparx EA, MagicDraw or Cameo, DOORS, or IBM Rhapsody 

  • Experience with the development of technical specifications, ICDs, and integration plans and schedules and automation or scripting in JavaScript, Python, or VTL 

  • Ability to perform multiple systems engineering and program management functions in support of design reviews and requirements verification  

  • Ability to communicate and establish collaborative relationships with government clients, Federally Funded Research and Developmental Centers (FFRDC), and associate contractor teammates to achieve program goals  

  • Secret clearance 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) field 

Nice If You Have:  

  • Experience with performing systems engineering, integration, and testing on space-based remote sensing systems, including SBIRS, Next Generation OPIR, FORGE, STSS, HBTSS, DMSP, WSF-M, and EWS 

  • Experience with OPIR payloads, space-based weather payloads, satellite busses, and satellite subsystems, including propulsion, thermal control, power, attitude control, TT&C, communications, data processing, and structures   

  • Experience with MATLAB, STK, ModelCenter, or TeamCenter 

  • Knowledge of Agile Methodologies  

  • Possession of excellent written and verbal communication skills 

  • Possession of excellent interpersonal skills 

  • TS/SCI clearance  

  • Master’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or IT  

  • INCOSE Systems Engineering Professional Certifications, including ASEP, CSEP, or ESEP Certification 

  • OMG Certified Systems Model Professional Certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $81,800.00 to $186,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
