Machine Learning Engineer, Lead

The Opportunity:

As an experienced data professional, you know that machine learning is critical to understanding and processing multi-modal, massive datasets. We need your technical expertise to support a diverse set of clients to include the Department of Defense (DoD) and Civilian clients.

As the senior machine learning engineer on our team, you’ll lead efforts to train, test, deploy, and maintain models that learn from data. In this role, you’ll own and define the direction of mission-critical solutions by applying best-fit ML algorithms and technologies. You’ll be part of a large community of machine learning engineers across the firm and collaborate with data engineers, data scientists, data visualization developers, data architects, product owners and mission experts. You will be a senior member of a team delivering world class enterprise solutions to implement Artificial Intelligence, Automation, and data Augmentation (AAA) and cloud strategies across the DoD enterprise and civilian agencies of the U.S. federal government. This role will also include applying advanced consulting or extensive technical expertise and full industry knowledge. Develop innovative solutions to complex problems. Your advanced consulting skills and extensive technical expertise will guide clients as they navigate the landscape of ML algorithms, tools, and frameworks. You Have:  

  • 7+ years of experience with artificial intelligence data science, machine learning engineering, or data analytics

  • 2+ years of experience with implementing, testing, and fielding automation, artificial intelligence, and machine learning solutions

  • 2+ years of experience deploying machine learning solutions into production using tools like Docker, GitHub Actions or GitLab CI/CD Pipeline

  • 2+ years of experience using Spark and other technologies associated with efficiently processing Big Data

  • Experience with software and artificial intelligence projects

  • Experience with project work in deep learning, computer vision, NLP, or signal processing

  • Knowledge of modern software design patterns, including microservice design or edge computing

  • Knowledge programming language such as Python, Scala, or Java

  • Ability to obtain a security clearance

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, or Statistics
                                                                        

Nice If You Have:  

  • Experience with space-based or autonomous systems

  • Experience working with Department of Defense

  • Experience in embedded systems programming in C/C++

  • Experience with GPU-programming, such as CUDA, RAPIDs, or similar

  • Experience with modern cloud computing technologies, including Kubernetes

  • Experience with deploying applications in a Cloud environment, including AWS or Azure

  • Ability to gather requirements from customers and lead Agile teams

  • Top Secret Clearance

  • Amazon Certified Solutions Architect or AWS Certified Machine Learning Specialty Certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $121,200.00 to $275,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
