As a space systems engineer on our team, you will work with Booz Allen colleagues and the U.S. Space Force to develop and deploy the next generation of resilient capabilities to deliver critical information to our warfighters to quickly win or even prevent future wars. Your client will trust you to develop Technical Requirements Documents (TRDs), Interface Control Documents (ICDs), technical assessments, verification plans, and digital mission and system models for satellite systems and payloads. You will grow your skills by researching new requirements, technologies, and threats and using innovative engineering methodologies and tools to create tomorrow’s solutions.

You Have:
10+ years of experience in large-scale space mission and systems engineering and integration on national security space programs
4+ years of experience performing systems engineering analysis and developing systems engineering products for satellite systems
Experience with leading a team for development of technical specifications, interface control documents, and integration and test plans and schedules for satellite systems
Experience with leading a team to conduct or support space system Preliminary Design Reviews (PDRs), Critical Design Reviews (CDRs), Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs), and System Verification Reviews (SVRs)
Experience with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
Knowledge of systems engineering standards, including IEEE 15288.1 and IEEE 15288.2
Ability to communicate and establish collaborative relationships with government clients, Federally Funded Research and Developmental Centers (FFRDC), and associate contractor teammates to achieve program goals
Ability to be highly motivated and demonstrate a dynamic work ethic and strong desire to contribute to the DoD mission
Secret clearance
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Physics
Nice If You Have:
Experience in the Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR), defense weather, and tactical ISR mission areas
Experience with OPIR payloads, space-based weather payloads, satellite busses, and satellite subsystems, including propulsion, thermal control, power, attitude control, TT&C, communications, data processing, and structures
Experience with leading a team performing systems engineering, integration, and test on space based remote sensing systems
Experience with leading a team using Model-Based Systems Engineering approach to manage system definitions and technical baselines
Knowledge of DoD 5000.01/02
Knowledge of Agile Methodologies
TS/SCI clearance
Master’s degree in an Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Physics field
INCOSE Systems Engineering Professional Certifications, including ASEP, CSEP, or ESEP
Clearance:

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $93,300.00 to $212,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.Work Model
