Volume Effects Capability Developer

Key Role: 

Develop capability solutions associated with current, developmental and future weapons, optics and volume effects weapon enablers and accessories. Support and follow guidance in the Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System (JCIDS). Support the development, writing, staffing, and adjudication of JCIDS documentation to include Capabilities Based Assessment (CBAs), Initial Capabilities Document (ICDs), Cost Benefit Analysis (C-BAs), Analysis of Alternatives (AoA), Change Recommendations (DCRs), Capability Development Document (CDDs), and Capabilities Production Document (CPDs). Support the requirement process for the Army Requirements Oversight Council (AROC) and Joint Requirements Oversight Council (JROC) briefings and information requests for military brigades.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of experience as active-duty military in the Infantry or Special Forces
  • 3+ years of experience with CAPDEV
  • Knowledge of current DoD weapons, ammunition, and enablers
  • Ability to prepare and deliver status briefings to senior leaders
  • Secret clearance
  • HS Diploma or GED

Additional Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of current and evolving organizational structures
  • Knowledge of the Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System (JCIDS) documentation system
  • Ability to plan, coordinate and implement weapons and enabler capabilities-based programs
  • Ability to develop Initial Capability Documents (ICD), Capability Developments Documents (CDD), and annex updates for upgrades and incremental technology improvements, monitoring and maintaining funding during Research, Development, Testing, and Evaluation (RDT&E) and procurement phases
  • Ability to coordinate, consolidate and review MCDID written document submissions for higher headquarters and outside agencies
  • Defense Acquisition University (DAU) Capability Developer Level 1 Certification
