Exercise Planner, Mid

Key Role:

Apply knowledge of how to organize diverse groups to build shared comprehension of complex challenges, facilitate collective problem solving, analysis, and implementation of new solutions and best practices, and work with clients to monitor and review the systematic activities implemented in an organizational system so that mission requirements are fulfilled. Contribute to the corresponding data analysis to design relevant, accurate, and realistic exercise materials that result in improved organizational mission performance, including planning, coordinating, and conducting Live, Virtual, and Constructive (LVC) exercise support. Manage exercise events that allow clients to discuss process initiatives and confirm viability and events to practice and execute processes to confirm efficiency and comprehension of performance and output expectations, including Operational Planning Teams (OPTs), In–Progress Reviews (IPRs), and After–Action Review (AARs). Facilitate training exercises and support exercises using the Joint Event Life Cycle (JELC) format for all exercises, seminars, and engagements. Maintain responsibility for analyzing the formulation and development of implementing and documenting each assigned exercise, seminar, and engagement. Conduct exercise preparation with partner nation civilian and military officials, including coordinating equipment support at the required training site and integrate US and partner nation exercise preparation activities in support of respective training goals and objectives. Execute the exercise and provide exercise support to the client and other cells, as required.

Basic Qualifications:

-8+ years of experience with military exercises at the battalion, brigade, or division level

-5+ years of experience with civil military

-5+ years of experience with theater security

-4+ years of experience with military planning at the battalion, brigade, or division level

-Knowledge of the Global Theater Security Cooperation Management Information System (G–TSCMIS)

-Ability to travel internationally up to 60% of the time

-Secret clearance

-HS diploma or GED

Additional Qualifications:

-Experience with the five stages of the JELC

-Experience with civil affairs, peacekeeping operations, humanitarian assistance, and disaster relief

-Experience as a Battalion Operations Sergeant or BN/BDE Command Sergeant Major (CSM)

-Experience in a combat arms military occupation specialty (MOS)

-Ability to take an exercise from the concept phase and plan, prepare, execute, and properly close it out the exercise

-Ability to work in remote areas

-Completion of the Senior Leader Course (SLC), ANCOC, IQC, or Sergeants Major Academy (SMA)

Clearance:

Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.
