Restraints Engineer

Key Role:

Apply engineering physics, engineering mathematics, and materials science principles to support the design, analysis, manufacture, or maintenance of mechanical systems. Apply advanced consulting skills, extensive technical expertise, and full industry knowledge. Develop innovative solutions to complex problems. Work without considerable direction and mentor and supervise team members.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience with designing, testing, or managing product development for vehicle interiors

  • 5+ years of experience with restraint system development

  • Knowledge of engineering systems, processes, and root cause analysis

  • Knowledge of CAD and FEA

  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time

  • Ability to obtain a security clearance

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering

Additional Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience with program or project management

  • Experience with engineering and testing software packages, including CAD, MATLAB, and FEA

  • Experience with military or automotive restraint system development preferred

  • Experience in leadership roles in engineering, including vehicle interiors, and commercial or supplier management

  • Experience with drafting and releasing performance requirements or test procedures

  • Knowledge of military specifications, engineering standards, material specifications, and safety regulations, such as FMVSS, ECE and ADR

  • Possession of research and analytical skills

  • Secret clearance

  • Master's degree

  • Project Management Professional Certification

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $81,800.00 to $186,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
