Communications Specialist

The Opportunity:

As a communications professional, you know how to inform and engage key audiences and help promote an organization’s preferred reputation. We’re looking for an experienced communications specialist like you, who is ready to share your knowledge and willing to win for the client and live our mission every day. Here, you’ll use your consulting skills and experience to design, develop, produce, and consult on a variety of internal and external communication materials and media that supports national defense and security priorities.

As a communications specialist on our team, you’ll develop creative solutions to complex problems. Your self-guided yet collaborative spirit will shape and nurture relationships with team members, stakeholders, and clients to establish and maintain existing client mission partnerships, document internal best practices for communications, and foster a collaborative environment through information sharing and transparency. Advise on all aspects of Strategic Communications and coordinate and develop newsletter and website content, briefings, talking points, executive summaries, and marketing materials. Work with subject matter experts to coordinate and facilitate user and stakeholder engagements.

You Have:   

  • 5+ years of experience with strategic communications

  • 3+ years of experience in a client-facing role

  • Experience with the DoD community

  • Experience with analysis and data gathering

  • Experience with the complete Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and SharePoint

  • TS/SCI clearance

  • Bachelor’s degree

Nice If You Have:   

  • 3+ year of experience in working directly with senior leaders

  • Experience with working in a technology or IT field

  • Experience with JIRA or Content Management Systems

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $75,600.00 to $172,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
